Chapter 108 Ready To Salvage The Treasure
Chapter 108 Ready To Salvage The Treasure
"We left the weapons in the car and only brought expandable batons!" Junzi looked at the seventeen or eighteen men as they got out of the cars, all holding identical kukris in their hands. He said to Ma Rongtao, "Boss, this group of people are likely targeting us. Let the three of us deal with them. You stay on the side."
"Um." Ma Rongtao nodded before turning to Chen Fan and Zhang Xueyang. "Let’s go inside the bar first and leave this to the bodyguards!"
"It’s time to put you to the test!" Chen Fan patted Wang Bing’s shoulder.
"What...what do you want, you...you can’t...fight here..." The bellboy wearing a red hat trembled as he walked forward and said to this group of people who were obviously up to no good. This was a group of youngsters with ’insolence’, ’arrogance’ and ’tyranny’ written all over their faces. They looked as if their hands were not holding kukris but ancient artifacts, making little of everyone around them.
"Ahh!" The two receptionists standing at the bar covered their mouths as they trembled and let out screams before hiding under the bar counter like ostriches.
"Little girls, don’t be afraid, big brother is here to protect you!" Zhang Xueyang laughed jovially, not at all worried that anyone would be able to hurt him. Other than the fact that his Uncle Ma’s three bodyguards were previously from the special forces, just witnessing Wang Bing fight on the Princess cruise was enough for him to believe that this group of people were not able to overcome Wang Bing.
Just then, two men wearing painful expressions were holding onto a man with blood all over his face as they walked out from the glass elevator. "It’s them, kill them!" The crew cut guy pointed to the bar and shouted as he recognized Chen Fan and company at first glance.
Swish! Ma Rongtao’s three bodyguards quickly took out the expandable batons and swung them out before getting into a posture ready to take on their enemies.
Clang! With a grim face, Wang Bing also took out the dagger Chen Fan passed him. He wouldn’t be afraid if the other party doubled in numbers if they came empty-handed, but he had to be careful now that they had knives.
The dagger was a foot long and felt heavy in his hand. After wielding it, Wang Bing felt smooth using it, and the design of the grip was good. After years of assassination
and anti-assassination training in the army, even if he was not considered a top expert in using daggers, he was definitely still better than master-level.
The two groups did not do any pre-fight shouting of ’rah-rah’. Each of them took two steps forward and waved the weapons in their hands toward the other party. Wang Bing did not bother using any backhand grip or sophisticated fighting technique with this group of juveniles. He simply held the grip tightly to block the approaching kukris and planned to kick them off.
Clang! Wang Bing’s eyes widened in disbelief as the black dagger went an inch deep into a kukri. Having no time to think, he sent one of them flying with a kick and took two steps back to widen the distance before pulling out the kukri that was stuck on the dagger.
As for Ma Rongtao’s three bodyguards, they proved themselves to be from the special forces. It was not known what material the batons in their hands were made of. After swinging it down, the opponent’s curved blade suffered a few more bends and became a corrugated knife.
Wang Bing and company each on average had to deal with four out of the seventeen men with kukris. Bang! Junzi’s baton hit a man down to the ground. After leaning his head to the side to dodge a fatal stab, he immediately took two steps back to widen the distance before jumping to the 300 square meter main hall, and engaged in guerrilla warfare.
The four men had all gone through strict formal training, hence gang fights were easy for them. After each of them went forward and hit each opponent with just one strike, they ran faster than rabbits, going around the hall in circles and hitting with their batons whenever there was a chance. They continued to wildy chase those who they did not manage to get a strike at, competing to see who could hold on longer.
Three long haired youngsters with tattooed elbows were bawling and chasing Wang Bing with kukris in their hands. After jumping over a pot of landscaped bamboo, Wang Bing turned his body and uprooted the bamboo with his left hand before throwing them like windmills onto the three men behind them.
"Bah!" The three men with kukris had their eyes and noses covered with the soil that was thrown out. Wang Bing saw the chance and quickly stepped forward, wielding the dagger with his right hand to block his opponent’s kukri attack as his left hand clenched together and struck toward his opponent’s chest.
Clang! The man saw danger out of the corner of his eyes and quickly raised his kukri to block. However, he did not expect the kukri to be broken into two by the dagger after giving out a loud sound of cutting metal. Bang! The man did not even let out a sound. His legs turned to jelly and he knelt right onto the ground.
In less than two minutes, twelve out of the seventeen initially aggressive and shouting men were lying on the ground, they either had seizures and were foaming at the mouth or had already lost consciousness and not moving at all. Seeing that the situation had undergone a 180 degree change, Junzi and company craftily smiled, swinging the weapon in their hands as they trapped the remaining five men toward the center step by step.
Clang! Finally, one man could not stand the strong contrast anymore. He threw away the kukri in his hand and squat down with his hand covering his head. He acted like a coward. Clang! Clang! Like a chain reaction, the arrogance on the faces of the remaining four men had long disappeared and was replaced by endless fear.
Unfortunately, Junzi and company were not policemen and did not buy their surrendering act. Seeing their opponent throw down their weapons, they charged forward and kicked them one after another before forcefully slapping them left and right. The empty hall sounded as if a few Afghan freedom fighters had slipped into it, making banging sounds which could have been mistaken for roadside bombs.
Woo-woo-woo... Some kind soul called the police and saved these nameless fighters who had almost lost their teeth. Wang Bing and company quickly stopped and ran to the front of the bar counter.
"Boss, what knife is this? It’s really sharp!" Wang Bing returned the Kunwu dagger to Chen Fan.
"An antique dagger I bought some time back!" Chen Fan put the dagger back behind his waist and turned his head to Ma Rongtao. "Do we have to align our statements?"
"Don’t worry, we’re victims!" Ma Rongtao pointed to his injured chest. "Our Zhongyun city police are good police, why would they make things difficult for us commoners?"
The policeman leading the team was in his thirties, with two bars and three flowers on his shoulder. After a sweeping glance, his gaze stopped and he rushed in front of Ma Rongtao. "Are you Mr Ma? You were attacked by these ruffians?"
"Captain Wang," Ma Rongtao pulled a long face. "I was having a meal with a few friends when I ran into this group of gangsters. Luckily my friends are highly-skilled and managed to prevent a vicious stabbing incident."
"Damn it, these scoundrels can’t wait to get shot!" Captain Wang almost got frightened out of his wits when he saw what these people were holding: kukris. If the richest man in Zhongyun was stabbed to death, those guys in the municipal committee would definitely suggest a big shake-up for the police force the next day.
"Quickly take the photographs for evidence and then take them away!" Captain Wang waved his hand. "Mr Ma, what do you think..."
"Just do whatever you should do. I’ll send someone over to the police station later to take the statement!" Ma Rongtao rubbed his chest. "I got kicked quite hard and need to get back for some rest. I’ll make a move first."
"Alright, alright." Captain Wang nodded.
At the car park, Ma Rongtao patted Chen Fan’s shoulder. "Fu Lulong won’t let the matter rest just like that! But I, Ma Rongtao won’t let the matter rest either. He dared to get his men to stab me. I’ll change my surname if I don’t chase him out of Zhongyun! Be more careful these few days and bring your bodyguard along when you go out. If you get into any trouble, quickly give me a call!"
"No problem!" Chen Fan nodded. In actual fact, this had nothing much to do with him anymore since the ruffians with the knives dashed into the main hall. After bidding farewell to Zhang Xueyang and Ma Rongtao, Chen Fan got Wang Bing to drive back to Bolan District.
After fixing some supper to calm his nerves, Chen Fan went to the bedroom on the second floor and laid down. Since getting the electric eel avatar, various coincidences seemed to be magnified a thousand times and happened to him one after another, making him more attention grabbing than a male lead in a novel!
"Seems like there’s a high chance of me striking the 5 million RMB lottery!" Chen Fan exclaimed before he shifted his thoughts onto the electric eel. He controlled the eel to swim a distance away and found a school of fish to fill its stomach. After returning to its hideout, Chen Fan shifted the electromagnetic induction onto the pituitary gland and used a weak current to stimulate the pituitary cortex.
There was silence the entire night. The next morning, Chen Fan got out of bed and contacted one of the big bosses in the garment trade according to the business card given to him by Ma Rongtao. It seemed like Ma Rongtao had informed the man beforehand. Chen Fan only mentioned his name and the other party readily said that he was going to Singapore for a delivery in five days, and he arranged for Chen Fan’s ships to have the goods loaded at Dagang Port.
Chen Fan did not know about shipping and did not wish to understand the ins and outs of it either. He got Yiteng Yun and Yu Lin to be fully in charge of this matter. They would not be paid if there were losses. If they managed it well, they would get twenty percent of the profits.
Five days later, Chen Fan got Wang Bing to drive him to Dagang Port. His two ships were bought by his hard-earned money after all. Although Chen Fan said he couldn’t care less, he was still a little worried. He especially went to cheer the crew on and also verbally promised them some welfare as a form of employee reward.
The two five-ton cargo ships let out a series of reverberating whistles and started to slowly move their massive bodies carrying fully loaded containers and sailed toward Singapore.
After getting home, Chen Fan started to strengthen the electric eel again.
Time flies. Ten days later, Chen Fan felt that the electric eel had already gone through a long period of strengthening and should be able to withstand the water pressure of more than 2,000 meters deep. Therefore, at 3PM in the afternoon, Chen Fan again controlled the electric eel to swim toward Shimen Trench, ready to salvage the treasure box to see what kind of treasure was inside!
