Chapter 341 - Little Lucky
Two seconds later the voice of the Aoyin spoke through him.
"You might... be gods but... you are held back.... by your... morals..... If you... kill me you... will also... kill him... Can a... kind-hearted Nocru... like you.... watch... the innocent die?"
Huishe Yue glanced at the boy before slowly shifting his gaze at the creature his eyes more terrifying than before. With his head slightly tilted to the side, he grinned like a vile fiend.
Without warning the creature\'s body was suddenly wrapped with Huishe Yue\'s body constricting its movements. The keystone within the creature\'s body became even more greedy quickly absorbing as much as it could.
At first, the creature thought this Nocru was stupid. He was sacrificing his seraphic energy which in turn could only make the Aoyin creature more powerful.
What it failed to realise was that the keystone was greedy meaning the rate of absorption was faster than the rate of producing the by-product which was the power that the Aoyin creature could adopt and use.
It was pointless for the Aoyin creature to directly consume the seraphic energy because it had no core to use it. This is how the keystone came into play. It would absorb seraphic energy and convert it to something the Aoyin creature could use. This balance was good but now that the tip of the scale had shifted something terrible was going to happen.
The keystone was the least bit courteous draining the fuck out of Huishe Yue\'s seraphic energy. When the creature realised what was happening it was already too late.
The little boy in the creator\'s arms began to cry while saying, "No don\'t. Please. I..... don\'t want.... to die."
This soft cry touched Rui Yewan so much that he took a step forward. He knew Ji Yao wouldn\'t want this but before he could take another step Rui Li stretched out her hand blocking his path.
"Whether it\'s true or not this has to happen," with a slight turn of her head she continued in a serious tone, "Don\'t interfere."
Rui Yewan clenched his fist before saying, "If it were one of us would he sacrifice us like that?" with his pupils rippling with emotion.
"But it\'s not us, is it? Remember your priorities," she said but in truth, these words were also directed at herself. She didn\'t want this kid to die but as opposed to keeping such a dangerous creature around it was the best choice.
The creature realised this trick wasn\'t going to work on this old fox so it began to struggle trying to escape Huishe Yue\'s hold. It tried to reduce the amount of seraphic energy the keystone absorbed but the greedy keystone couldn\'t let that happen.
It began to fight him tearing the Aoyin creature\'s flesh surrounding it. This was meant to subdue the creature using pain and that\'s exactly what happened. Against the aggression of the keystone, the creature was at its mercy.
Huishe Yue tightened his hold on the creature and engaged his aether gathering an insummable amount of energy. Having absorbed too much energy the imbalance finally reached a point of saturation hence explosive.
Satisfied Huishe Yue flung the Aoyin creature a great distance and the moment it hit the ground a massive explosion occurred decimating everything around it. Chunks of flesh rained from the sky amidst the dust and debris.
Just like that, the creature was defeated with little to no effort. One thing was clear from this. Unlike Ji Yao and Rui Fei, Huishe Yue possessed something special that is wisdom gained from age. It didn\'t take him long to solve the problem.
As he slowly strode through the cloud of dust and rain of flesh Huishe Yue absorbed back his seraphic energy lingering in the atmosphere. Regaining all his lost strength he felt refreshed. When he opened his eyes he showed a contented smile. Before him was the keystone shining underneath the soil. He knelt down and picked it up while saying, "You have caused so much trouble already. That means you aren\'t getting anything from me."
After saying this he tossed the keystone in his storage before turning to leave. As the dust settled the siblings began searching for that little boy\'s body. If he was dead they could at least give him a decent burial.
As they looked around they called to him but there was no response. They could only conclude that he was dead. After searching for a good ten minutes they still couldn\'t find him and the cloud of dust hadn\'t fully settled yet obscuring their vision.
Just when they thought of getting Zhang Li to use his skill and clear the dust cloud a tiny weak cough was heard. The two looked at each other their bodies frozen for a second before they rushed over where the sound was coming from.
They couldn\'t believe he was alive. Either that creature lied or Huishe Yue knew something. Either way, they had an overwhelming sense of relief as they ran over.
Half his body was covered with soil so they could only dig him out. Beside him, there was the carcass of the creature that had been holding him hostage earlier. It seemed when the Aoyin creature died it followed its boss to hell.
When they dug him out he was having difficulty breathing but he was alive. The two siblings looked at each other while Rui Yewan patted the boy\'s back. Their lips slowly quirked up and for some reason, they started laughing their faces covered in dust. "We should call Xiao Yunqi Hahaha," said Rui Yewan.
"Why?" she asked while wiping the tear at the corner of her eye.
"Because he is so fuckin lucky," he said as his laughter died down.
Rui Li smiled as she wiped away the tears that started flowing uncontrollably. "Uh Dage, language," she said reprimanding him in a playful tone.
The two stared at each other as they chuckled in the middle of a dust cloud. It was finally over. The nightmare was over leaving behind a bald patch on the once gorgeous mountain range. This would serve as a reminder to the surviving villages how a pirate king saved them from despair.
It was indeed over but not for Rui Fei. He failed to reach the coast in his true form with his body returning to his human form mid-flight and he almost crashed on the mountainside.
Trying to hold back his emotions he lay Ji Yao down and went through his storage once more looking for anything else that could help. Ji Yao\'s face was still bloodless and he hadn\'t woken up yet. The ghastly wound on his abdomen had stopped bleeding which was progress but it wasn\'t good enough for Rui Fei.
Wiping the involuntary tear flowing at the corner of his eye with his sleeve he continued going through everything. If anything happened to Ji Yao then he was better off dead.. He felt like there was nothing worth living for if his love left him.
