Chapter 237 - Constant Error Messages!
The zombie finally dropped to the ground after Nile pierced its arm with the spear in his hands.
A wide and creepy smile surfaced on his face as the tip of the spear on his hand slowly transformed into a trident.
"Let\'s see how you can dodge this now!"
The smile on his face did not reside and instead, it went even wider.
He slowly raised the trident up in the air and with a swoosh sound, the trident traveled towards the zombie\'s head at an extreme speed.
The zombie tried to sway its head sideways to dodge, however, just as what Nile had said, it was already a useless endeavor.
Putsik!
The trident\'s three sharp spikes pierce the zombie\'s middle eyebrow and the area around its temple.
The zombie squirmed for a few seconds before it finally stopped moving after Nile pierced it again the second time.
At the same time, a loud sound suddenly echoed inside his mind. It was the System prompt that notified him of his kill.
However, unlike before, the sound it gave off was clearly louder and was a little annoying even for Nile.
He scrunched and massaged his brow as he read the content of the new message inside his head.
[Congratulations Host, you have successfully killed the Level Three° Zombie, the Town\'s Mayor!
Constitution and Will: +5.0, Error! Limit is already reached, stats distribution is on hold. Please Level Up as soon as possible!
Apocalypse Points: +100, -100]
[After Killing the Zombie, Town\'s Mayor, you gained a fragment of your lost memory!]
[Error! Error! Error!]
"What the hell is happening?" Nile\'s heart started to beat in confusion.
This is already the second Error that he got. First, it was about the nerf of his System Map. And now this, deducting 100 Apocalypse Points due to an error?
He was so mad that he did not even realize that there was a huge jump on the acquisition of Stats and Apocalypse Points after killing a Level Three Zombie.
"Hey, System, are you fucking with me right now?" He grunted loudly as he pierced the trident towards the dead zombie mayor again.
"You\'re just trying to scam me right? You just want the Apocalypse Virus for yourself right?"
However, the System did not reply aside from the constant Error message that it was showing.
"Stop showing me that already and give me back my Apocalypse Points. I still have some dreams you know?"
But no matter what kind of cursing Nile released the result was still the same. Error messages that keeps on bugging him inside his brain.
"What happened?" A concerned voice suddenly resounded behind Nile.
Hearing that voice, Nile somewhat calmed for a moment before he released a loud sigh!
"The System…" He proceeded to explain what was happening. Telling it to Jellan was no longer a problem as she was already bound to him by the System.
Jellan held his hand softly as she tried to calm his turmoiled emotion. It was effective as Nile\'s brows were no longer as compressed as before.
"Don\'t worry it will return to normal in no time."
Ban nodded his head as he also felt the same. However, a part of him also wanted to know the reason for the Errors, but with the System\'s current situation, he doubted if it would still answer him.
Nile chooses to ignore it for now as he glances at the worried Jellan. "Are you alright? I just killed your father you know!"
"Hmm… hmm… I already accepted this outcome the moment I saw him again earlier. Although it\'s still a little bitter for me, I could manage it." Jellan nodded her head softly.
"If you say so!" Nile shrugged his shoulders as he reread the System message inside his brain.
He then stopped at the part where the System mentioned about him gaining a memory fragment that he had lost.
\'No wonder the memory that I got from the previous me is in shambles. I also noticed that some parts of the memory were missing as if they were cut.\'
Nile then looked at Jellan again as he finally decided to tell her what happened five years ago. He recounted all of it including his cowardice.
"That was it?" Jellan scrunched her brows in confusion.
"What do you mean that\'s it?" Nile tilted his head in confusion.
"I mean… I\'m just a little surprised that my father only threatened you that way. I know him well, and I know that he won\'t stop until he gets what he wants. I even imagined before that he already ordered some of his goons to kill you!" She lowered her head as if ashamed of her own father.
"Really?" Nile brows scrutinized in confusion as he searched that kind of memory. However, he could only give up in the end as he could not recall something of that sort.
A while later he then recalled the memory fragment that he was supposed to receive. \'Is that memory fragment related to her father? And now that I already killed, I\'m now eligible to get it?\'
\'Fuck, why did the System went nuts at this moment?\' He could not help but curse again.
Nile then proceeded to tell Jellan about the missing memory part and told her that the memory regarding her father\'s real attitude towards him might be on that memory fragment.
"Hmm, that\'s the only explanation then. I really could not believe my father would only threaten you! Although he always treats me nicely, I always knew that the attitude he showed to others was entirely different."
"I can\'t blame him though, you know, politics!"
Nile nodded his head understanding. He decided to put the matter on hold for now until the System recovered.
He was also curious about what really happened to the previous Nile as he no longer believes that a coward like him could get the attention of Jellan.
And aside from that, his whole body was also throbbing like a heart.
It was an indication that he was already at his limit and he will now evolve to the next level.
"Let\'s get out of here first, I need to find a safe spot to ascend to Level Three° safely!"
